With the words, Hear us, O God of harvest time, you are invited to respond Your mercy is great.
Rejoicing in the crisp air of autumn beginnings, we pray for our church, for those in need, and for all of creation.
a brief silence
God of cooperation and consensus, bring us ever closer in our partnership with the Anglican Church of Canada. Bless Bishop Logan, Bishop Greg and the congregations of our synod. We pray especially today for St. Paul Shared Ministry in Barriere and Trinity Shared Ministry in Clearwater and Pastor Brian Krushel and Spirit of Life in Vancouver and Pastor Clifford Reinhardt.
Hear us, O God of harvest time
Your mercy is great.
Make faith more and more present and alive in your church and among your people. Raise up parents and grandparents, prophets, and teachers who know life transformed by your spirit that we might spread the good news of full and abundant living.
Hear us, O God of harvest time
Your mercy is great.
Give us the courage to pay attention to the strife and distress among peoples in your world, and to be people of persistent peace. Let us remember the example of the Martin Luther Kings, Nelson Mandela’s, and Sister Theresa’s and find our own way to model the change we hope for in our world.
Hear us, O God of harvest time
Your mercy is great.
Move us to care for those in need. Make us faithful advocates and caretakers for those who are oppressed, poor, lonely, imprisoned, bereaved, or sick. Give us strength when our knees bend with discouragement. We pray especially for those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)
Hear us, O God of harvest time
Your mercy is great.
Give vision to our congregation that our pastor, teachers, staff, volunteers, worship leaders, and council members are filled with energy. Give us all a joyful satisfaction in knowing our church as a place where we are known and appreciated fully for all that we are.
Hear us, O God of harvest time
Your mercy is great.
Fill each of our days with a calm belief that we are your beloved people, with love and life worth living, worth sharing. Give us a clear sense of our own vocation, of the unique and valuable role you call on us to play day by day, week after week.
Hear us, O God of harvest time
Your mercy is great.
We gather together all our prayers into your hands, Father/Mother God, Brother Christ, and ever-moving Spirit .
Amen
