With the words, you who whisper yes, yes, you are invited to respond Hear our prayer.

May we, steeped in the truth that sets us free, spread blessing throughout the church, the world, and all of creation.

a brief silence

Set free for love and compassion, help us as we build and rebuild our partnership with the Anglican Church of Canada. Bless Bishop Logan, Bishop Greg and the congregations of our synod. We pray especially today for Oakridge in Vancouver and Pastor Dorothy Chu and Redeemer in Vancouver and interim Pastor Vida Jaugelis.

You who whisper yes, yes

Hear our prayer.

As the season of coastal rain sets in, remind us of how blessed we are to have water in a world where fresh water is so precious and so essential. As we turn our taps, remind us of those who must walk long distances to find water and conserve it as the life-giving gem it is.

You who whisper yes, yes

Hear our prayer.

As we contemplate the complexities of the world’s problems, help us to create an environment where strong and principled leaders develop and lead. Inspire our leaders to be honest statespeople, finding new ways to redeem the worst of what political discourse can become.

You who whisper yes, yes

Hear our prayer.

As we look to you for compassion, help us to pass it on. Enable us to reach out in our own pain and suffering instead of turn inward. Be with all whose hearts ache, whose hands are empty, whose resources are depleted. We say the names now, aloud or within our hearts. We pray especially for those who have requested your care and strength (name those on the prayer list)

You who whisper yes, yes

Hear our prayer.

As you nestle within the depths of our very souls, call our congregation as a whole and us as individuals to find our niche in helping the world you love. Open our eyes to the good you are doing in a troubled world, in a fractured community, and in individual lives.

You who whisper yes, yes

Hear our prayer.

As we raise our voices in praise, remind us of “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling” and of the great contribution of our great hymnwriters. Today we especially remember Philip Nicolai, Johann Heermann, and Paul Gerhardt.

You who whisper yes, yes

Hear our prayer.

Into your strong and gentle hands, God of past and future, we place ourselves and our prayers, trusting always that you are moving all things toward our good.

Amen
