BC Synod Study Conference for Rostered Leaders
The BC Synod Study Conference at Loon Lake Lodge, May 7 – 10, is an educational event for all rostered ministers, interns, parish workers, candidates registered with CTEL, and professional lay workers in the BC Synod. As stated in the bylaws of the Synod, all rostered ministers “serving under call, shall attend all conventions of the Synod, the annual study conference and the meetings of the conferences to which they belong.” Those who will not be in attendance are to contact Bishop Kathy Martin.
Registration fees are to be paid by the employing organization where applicable. For congregations who are being served by rostered leaders who are Indigenous, Black or People of Colour (IBPOC) registration fees are waived as a gesture of reparation and recognition of the Synod’s continuing need to support and encourage those among us who have experienced and may continue to experience racial discrimination. Becoming a more inclusive church is part of the process of decolonization in which we are engaged.
