Committee for Theological Education and Leadership works with potential and current theological students in the synod, supporting them in their education and discernment. The committee meets with the students annually to evaluate their progress and their suitability for ministry.
Lutheran Theological Seminary offers theological education for those interested in ministry in Western Canada.
Do you want to understand more about the Bible or theology? Do you want to develop your skills as a lay leader in a congregation? Or do you sense a call to ordained ministry, either as a pastor or a deacon?
At LTS, you might take a degree in something general, like the Bible or Christian Theology. Or, you might opt for a program in a specialized area, like Diaconal Studies. We offer basic degrees, such as various Master of Theological Studies options. For more advanced students, we share in the Master of Theology degree offered with Saskatoon Theological Union (STU) partners. If you don’t have a prior degree, talk to us, because we may be able to admit you based on other educational and life accomplishments.
Our school is situated on the University of Saskatchewan Campus in Saskatoon. However, you do not need to be in Saskatoon to study - we offer many distance education options as well.
