Just days after the second anniversary of the war between Israel and Hamas, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) National Bishop Larry Kochendorfer and Canadian Lutheran World Relief Interim Executive Director Rev. Dr. Michael Pryse have written to the church in an urgent call for prayer following news of the beginnings of a peace deal between Israel and Hamas.
In the letter released October 9, the two leaders invite members to pray, “that this fragile window for peace will hold and become the foundation for a lasting, just peace for all Israelis and Palestinians.”
The full text of the letter can be found here.
The ELCIC also supports the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land with a special appeal.
