The 2025 ELCIC National Convention has come to a close in Winnipeg, MB. It has been a few busy days with important elections and other church business. This year, the National Convention's task was to elect a new National Bishop. Rev. Dr. Larry Kochendorfer, currently serving as interim pastor of Our Redeemer in Penticton as well as Assistant to the Bishop for Special Service, was elected on the sixth ballot. Congratulations to Bishop-elect Larry! The convention also spent an evening celebrating and giving thanks for the ministry of Bishop Susan Johnson who is retiring after 18 years as the National Bishop. Please keep Bishop Susan, Bishop-elect Larry, Cathy, and their family in your prayers as they transition to their new journeys. Pray also for their current places of ministry. Like in any change, there will be a mixture of joy and sorrow as they say goodbye and prepare for the journey ahead. The National Convention delegates will be reporting back on their experiences and the business of convention in the coming weeks. We are coming home, Rejoicing in HOPE, and inspired for the work ahead. This church is full of amazing people, including you!
