The season of Lent invites us to reflect on some of the more challenging sides of life. Lent acknowledges the heaviness and weariness - especially fitting this year, it seems.
We have collected some resources for your Lenten journey here. The page will be updated periodically.
For February's Lay Leaders' Gathering, Lorraine Reinhardt compiled materials and ideas for Lenten worship, especially for lay-led services. You can download them here.
Need ashes for Ash Wednesday? You can make your own. Traditionally, previous Palm Sunday's palms are used. However, you can also use dried herbs (lavender, sage, etc.) or paper. Prepare the ashes outdoors - it's a smoky, messy job. Good instructions and a devotional for preparing the ashes can be found here.
Addressing Anti-Judaism During Lent and Eastertide: Last year, the Consultation on Common Texts (CCT) issued guidance on addressing anti-Judaism and proposed alternate readings for Palm/Passion Sunday and Good Friday, along with revisions to the lectionary for the season of Easter and the time after Pentecost. This provisional update to the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) is now commended to the churches for a three-year trial period, beginning in Advent of 2025. ELCIC worship leaders are invited to integrate these revisions into worship planning.

Seven weeks of prayer, reflection and action address personal carbon footprints alongside the economic systems driving climate change and water contamination across the web of life. Beginning February 18, participants examine a different industry each week. For more information, please click here.
