What began as a temporary resource within the ELCIC’s British Columbia Synod in 2016 under the oversight of Rev. John Graham has grown into a valued ministry of sharing preaching resources and connecting congregations across the church. We give thanks to Rev. Jane Gingrich for her many, many years of dedicated coordination and service of this valued resource to the church.

Since 2020, the ministry has also been enriched by the ELCIC Summer Sermon Series contributions of Synod and National Bishops and Assistants to the Bishops. This fall, we welcome Rev. Steve Johnston who takes on the role of coordinator for Sermons By Email, with contributions from ELCIC leaders from across the church.

October contributors will begin with members of the ELCIC’s Program Committee for Worship. Rev. Tanya Varner prepared a sermon for Sunday, October 11; Rev. Sean Bell is providing the sermon for Sunday, October 18; And as part of the ELCIC’s National Worship Service in celebration of the ELCIC’s 40th Anniversary, ELCIC National Bishop Larry Kochendorfer’s sermon will be available for congregational use (you may also choose to join with your congregation to watch the livestream that day). More information can be found here.
