June is National Indigenous History Month - a time to honour the histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada. June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day and 2026 will mark the 30th anniversary of the celebration.
This coming month, we take time to reflect on reconciliation and commit to truth, justice, and healing. We are invited to learn from Indigenous voices - through books, films, conversations, and events. Attend a National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration on or around Sunday, June 21, visit a local friendship centre, or explore whose land you live on and the treaties that shape it.
