If you are an ELCIC member between the ages of 18 and 30 years, consider applying for the LWF Peace Messengers Training -a global LWF program for youth. The application link is below. The objective of Peace Messengers is to empower young people, to equip them with necessary skills to act as peace multipliers, and to ultimately create a more peaceful and just societies in which our member churches operate.
The training includes three components: skill building (e.g. theology, communication, and conflict resolution skills); space for intergroup dialogue; and intergenerational support. The 2026 training is from April 20 to 25, 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa, in collaboration with the Lutheran Communion in Southern Africa and will be in English.
Costs for the program are set by LWF. Successful applicants will need to consider fundraising in order to cover the costs. Applications to the Luther League Legacy Fund will also be considered. Some funding may be available through the National Office of the ELCIC.
