On November 22, 2025, Katja Brittain will join us for a morning of conversation and reflection as we explore the possibilities, sustainability, and faithful stewardship of our church buildings and properties. We have been entrusted with these gifts for the sake of the church—now and for generations to come. How might we creatively use these spaces to serve God’s mission and ministry today.
Our guest consultant, Katja Brittain, brings deep experience in guiding congregations through this kind of discernment. Deployed half-time with the ELCIC, she supports congregations and synods across Canada in reimagining the use of their buildings in ways that align with mission and sustainability. She will help us think in fresh, imaginative ways about how our properties can embody God’s presence and purpose in our communities.
Many congregations are already in conversation about redevelopment or the possible sale of their buildings—discussions that require care, creativity, and courage. Katja’s expertise can help navigate these complex decisions. Following this event, she will also be in British Columbia for several days, meeting in person with congregations that have arranged follow-up conversations.
There are two ways to participate:
In person: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1504 Sprice Ave, Coquitlam, BC

We hope you will come and spend the morning with us.
Let’s explore and embrace the creative ways of ministry that are opening before us.
We are a community of congregations who love God, who care deeply about things that matter and who are called to serve people with compassion and justice. What a great time to be church!
Our gathering will send us out inspired and hopeful for the path, mission and ministry ahead!
Everyone is welcome!
